Langley School will be entertaining some of the biggest names in school rugby when they host their inaugural U15 Schools Rugby Festival on 19th and 20th October this year.
The two day festival will see teams with some of the best playing records across the UK coming together to compete against one another at the Norfolk School.
Organised by Langley’s Director of Sport, Tim Malone, it has attracted entries from Abingdon, Bedford, Belfast Royal Academy (Northern Ireland), Eton College, Merchiston Castle (Scotland), Millfield, Pocklington, RGS Newcastle and Sollihull.
The host school have a very impressive playing record in this age group and play an open and expansive game brand of rugby. It was this that led to the development of the idea of hosting the tournament.
“We have started travelling further afield to find competitive fixtures in this age group and it seemed obvious to try and bring some of the top performing sides together. I think the response has been so positive because the Under 15 age group is the beginning of the NatWest Cup and Vase competition. All of the sides attending have very impressive playing records and I think the opportunity to test themselves out against teams at a similar level is very attractive."
The event offers free entry and car parking for parents, staff, students, friends of the school and members of the public wishing to spectate. The weekend of rugby also has a range of activities, competitions, catering and refreshments on offer over both days.
